Dharamshala Tour Dharamsala or Dharamshala is a little Tibetan Buddhism heartland tucked in the folds of Himalayas. Located in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh, this hill station is best known as the home of his holiness XIVth Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, a world known Buddhist figure and a Nobel Peace Prize Recipient (1990). Many tourists visit this serene hill station for the spiritual discourses and lectures held by Dalai Lama. For the rest of the year, this destination becomes a perfect haunt for the travellers keen on venturing towards the soothing side of mountains.

Here, in the upper reaches or Mcleodganj, there are many prominent Tibetan Buddhist tour attractions. The Kangra Art Museum - Kangra Art Museum is a unique museum where the artifacts belonging to Tibetan and Buddhist cultures are displayed. One can look forward to a treasured experience in this art museum filled with historical art work, clay work, pottery, coins and other rich artifacts. It takes 30 min – 1 hr time to observe the museum. Nearby the museum, the prominent attraction is Kotwali bazaar.

St. John in the Wilderness - St. John in the Wilderness is the standing remnant of British legacy in the town and features a church and a cemetery of Lord Elgin, the Viceroy of the area. The church is known for its Belgian stained-glass windows donated by Lady Elgin, the wife of Lord Elgin.

Norbulingka Institute – Norbulingka Institute is an organization coined to preserve Tibetan traditions, culture, art and crafts through training and education. Here, many tourists come to learn diverse art forms like woodcarving, Thangka painting, embroidery, sculptures, appliqué Thangkas, etc. Also, one can purchase an exclusive souvenir from here in the form of embroidered clothes, cushions and wall hangings, the benefits of which go directly to the Tibetan artists.

Also here are delightful Japanese-influenced gardens and a central Buddhist temple with a 4mhigh gilded statue of Sakyamuni. Next to the shop is the Losel Doll Museum), with quaint puppet dioramas of Tibetan life. A short walk behind the complex is the large Dolma Ling Buddhist nunnery.

Bhagsunag – Located just 2 km from upper reaches of Dharamsala, Bhagsunag is a sacred temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Palampur – Situated 30 km away from Dharamsala, Palampur is a small town famous for its greens, rice fields and tea plantations. This town was also the famous hideout point of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh and holds a key to relaxed vacations here.

Air - Kangra / Gaggal Airport near Dharmasala airport is located at a distance of 12 km.

Rail - Pathankot is the nearest railhead route on the broad gauge, however Kangra station is on the narrow gauge map, only 18 km from away Dharamsala.

Road - The national highways numbered 1 and 1A connect Dhramsala to Pathankot and Jalandhar.
